I agree with the other readers. This article gave me no information as to where to retire on social security alone in 2013. It's very frustrating to try to find the actual information.

And so I jump around from link to link and still have no clue of one much less ten places to retire on SS alone! "10 best places to retire on Social Security alone." What the hell does that mean to the writer or Editor?? What is a "place?" Thanks for wasting my time!

I'd like to see a follow up on this article to 2013 updated figures... with all the new Soc.Sec. laws now implemented for retirees...

What BS...did the editors get the title wrong or are they just doing a "bait and switch?"

Where are the ten best places to reture on social security alone?? That is the title of the article buy they are never named anywhere. Not even one of them. What kind of journalism is this??

While I did not bother to look up the crime rates in all the towns mentioned I did for Syracuse NY. it violent crime rate is double the average. I suspect the rest of the towns have similiar problems. Go to the towns, retire , and have some thug shoot you, that would be great.

Where is Boone, NC. What is there in housing?

I live in Boone, NC and it is the farthest thing from low-cost living. My husband and I both work, we have two children 5 and 7 years old, we can barely make ends meet. Whoever wrote this needs to check their facts. This is one of the most expensive places to live in the state of North Carolina.

This is one of the most flawed pieces I have ever read. The reason why median income is so low in almost every one of these towns is because they are all homes to large universities. Students tend to have very low incomes . . .
