I came to Chapala Mexico in 1994 as a travel agent. Was here 3 days and fell in love.

Returned to Georgia and told my husband....we are moving to Mexico. He said OK. He came here ....bought 2 lots and built a home looking at the lake. I have been here several years....this is Paradise. Wonderful weather and a much less cost of living....and bridge every day!!!!!

It disturbs me that the media wants to advertise the crime. I look at the newspapers and the TV....Crime is everywhere. Just always be aware of your surroundings.

Show me a lakeside home in Traverse City, Michigan for $155,715 and I'll rush right over and buy it. Of course, it will need at least $200,000 in repair/updates.

Whoever wrote this article did not do any research on their own, the took one of the Chamber member's word for it and printed it. Don't forget gas prices, usually the highest in the state for no reason, eating out, taxes, food and all those other line items that make it a very expensive place to live.

But, good luck to the person that stumbles onto his dream house in TC.

I retired to Chapala, Mx because I could have a better lifestyle because my retirement funds did not allow me to live comfortablly here in the States. It is beautiful and I have made so many friends and there is so much to do I hardly have time to fit it all in. That is only the first month. Most of the gringos, gringas are my age or better. All the way up to 93 and she just bought her 3rd house. No dementia, no rocking chairs (unless you want) . The retirees came and love it here. We are not elderly here. I think the lifestyle makes you live longer and happier. Happier, that is the key. I love it here

Are you nuts?????

Other than Port Charlotte the rest of these places are C O L D...........

Southwest Florida, like Sarasota (the cultural center of Florida with the best beach on Siesta Key)....Very nice people, mostly from the midwest, Republican, well run, low taxes for real estate and......

sales tax only 6%.... and....NO STATE INCOME TAX...probably the best place.

I'm in Boca Raton...also very beautiful, but invaded by crude and rude New Yorkers in the winter...

Check out Oxford, Mississippi.

I can't believe you list Pittsburgh. The weather sucks and the scenery is dotted with old abandoned mills and mill town housing. I lived there 4 years and couldn't wait to move.

I am not telling where I retired to but I love it!!!
