@Citizen123 You obviously DO NOT live in California. It might not be for everyone, but once you are a Californian, there is no tax high enough to keep us from wanting to live there. It is the best of all worlds, if this state that would be in the Top 10 Economies in the world if a separate country. Taxes now are actually lower than they have been (in any state) if you look at the facts. You should no be brainwashed by RIGHT wing Faux news types, as taxes now are actually lower than they have been in DECADES if you simply look at the facts. Not much above the National Average. And we love our quality of life in the Golden State - which actually ranks CONSISTENTLY in the TOP 10 in categories that matter in our every day life. One of the most picturesque states in the union, California attracts visitors year-round for its superb climate and endless range of outdoor activities. From sunshine to snow, surfing to snowboarding, the great state of California has it all. And of the 50 states, California has garnered the most accolades from domestic and foreign travelers looking for sun, culture and attractions from beach hotels to scenic forests; Amusement parks and other attractions too numerous to mention. Just for example, if you go to San Francisco – take a simple walk here and you’ll hear tourists speaking a variety of European languages, as this city is the most popular among international travelers seeking to find the best of the best that America has to offer. I take it you don't get out much...

I am surprised at ANY California city being on this list. Since the state of California will soak any retirement savings with high taxes annually. Taxes many other states do not charge.

Why only USA places are mentioned?

Many retirees are looking for someplace "warm". Just be sure that the place you are looking at isn't just warm a few months a year, and so hot and humid most of the year as to be unbearable. The Florida Move Guide say that over 1000 people a day move out of a certain state, heat and humidity being just one reason. These lists provide an important service, but the grass isn't always greener, sometimes it's burnt to a crisp.

I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE YOUR COMMENTS ON THE STATUS FISCALLY AND SOCIALLY FOR AN iNTERNATIONAL COUPE TO RETIRE IN USA.

ARE THERE ANY TAXES TO PAY ON OUR RETIREMENT FUNDS?

ARE THERE ANY TAXES TO PAY ON CASH SAVING FUNDS WE BRING WITH US INTO COUNTRY WHILE RETIRED?

WHAT FISCAL STATUS WE WILL HAVE?

WILL WE HAVE GREEN CARD OR ANNUAL RESIDENCE VISA?

Well, there you have it!

As a single male, in the mid 60s, and, still working, Pittsfield Massachusetts seems to be my kind of place. Having lived in the State since 1972, these facts were never revealed. One wonders, though, if apartments, (Quality apartments) are available, for Healthy well credentialed professionals. Would never want to change my State.

Tons to do..Ocean Beaches, Bays, Boating, Golf, Dining, Culture, Top Notch Health care, Festivals year round, Two Major Airports within hr.s drive. Laid back living with so much to do. I woule like to have more information on Port Charlotte, Fla. Maybe some pictures of homes close to the coast that are under $100,00 dollars.

Living in Florida takes it's toll the longer you're here. It's hot and humid most of the year and the only break you get is when it's merely warm. I think that's why the Florida Move Guide says that a million people move out of the state every 3 years. People who live here but keep homes up north or RV out of here for hurricane season and the worst of summer seem happiest.

Been to these places and although we in Oregon get our cloudy days.........it is mild and the summers and falls are the best ever! Wouldn't think of leaving it.........not on a bet!
