The "sushine state" has lots of sunny days. Unfortunately it also about 9 months os sauna like humidity that makes all but impossible to enjoy the sun. The sun is stronger than where you now live because it's closer to the equator, so protect yourself from it to protect yourself from skin cancer. The Florida Move Guide says to think long and hard before uprooting your life and spending a fortune to move where the grass looks like it might be greener.

my dear companion and myself traveled all over the united states and its nice to be warm but we still liked the change of seasons and are too old to change our ways now.

I moved to Northern Colorado in 1995 from Southern California. I live in the Fort Collins-Loveland-Greeley tri-plex area. It is sunny here 300 days a year. Yes, some of those days are cold. But they are not bad with the sun out. It is also a very dry climate- very low humidity. Snow that falls here usually melts quickly- wthin 24 hours or so. I was surprised in my first winter to find that it felt comfortable here when it was 35 degrees if the sun was out.The cost of living here compares favorably with most places, and we have only light traffic most times. The other truly amazing benefit is the fabulous beautiful mountain scenery that is breath-taking. We have a view of the Rocky Mountains from our bedroom window. Rocky Mountain National Park is a short 45 minute drive away through a beautiful canyon. And there are many lakes for boating, fishing & water sports. There are plentiful & not expensive golf courses in all 3 cities as well as in the smaller towns surrounding the 3 cities. Both Fort Collins & Greeley have a philharmonic orchestra and many plays and musical events. Greeley has an Annual Blues Festival every year in June. In the summer, Greeley has the Greeley Stampede, the largest 4th of July rodeo in the US. We are only 50 miles away from Denver when we want a "big city fix". And of course the mountains with all the ski resorts are also a short 2.5-3 hour drive away. Do I sound like a fan of No CO? I guess I am!

It's interesting that the "sunshine state" isn't all over this list. Of course Florida is the lighting capital of the word and has an extra season called hurricane season that lasts longer than winter up north according to the Florida Move Guide. A sunny day is usually welcomed but can be dreaded if it's comes with high heat and humidity 6-9 months EVERY year.
