If you want sun, try Venice, Gainesville or St Augustine in the state called the "sunshine state". There is a sale still going on 50-60% off which means you can afford to buy a place go just for the winter. FL is unbeatable in the winter, no hurricanes, humidity, or rain.

FRESNO???!!! If it's not a rainy day in the winter, the sun may come out by noon when the fog burns off.

Not only is Redding a great "sunny" city to retire but housing in our area is VERY affordable given it's still California!

Redding, CA is a fantastic place to retire, here is very active program in the city senior recreation center, and you have a nature here with national parks, state and local parks, plus "A River Runs Through It". It can get hot, but the homes here are all with A/C. The spring and fall is the best, you can't beat it anywhere. Here is a lot of very good restaurants, 2 colleges, several hospitals, just plenty of things to do. You can see several snowcapped mountains and go river rafting as much as you like or fish anytime.

I have lived in FL all of my life. I hate the summers. Winters are beautiful most everyday. I would love to live somewhere with four seasons. Maybe in a couple years i will do a extended road trip and decide where i want to be.

Florida -- hurricanes, humidity, alligators and right-wing Tea Party crazies. Fuggedaboudit.
