How does this effects someone that is full term disabled, and was married to that spouse for over 10 years, and neither person has used their retirement income. So, can the other spouse that is now yet 65 years claims benefits on the other spouse, and draw both checks.

Very soon dear people we will be faced with picking the party and President for the next four years.

Please think very hard before you give this poor country back to the fat cats who lied us into the Iraq War. This is where our social security money went down the drain....Billions of dollars and thousands of lives wasted by those republican fools.

Please.....no more !!

Buch took 80 billion fromS.S to go kill for oil but we that put the money in S.S have to beg for it or feel gulty to get it as if we dont deserve it.

Social security is probably the best thing that could have ever happened for people getting to retirement age. Being forced on the masses is probably the only savings most people wind up with. Life is too tough for most to not use every dollar available to them. I'm so sick of the greedy republican minded crowd wanting to steal everything they can. That's how they plan their retirements, stealing from the poorer and keeping it for themselves.

James Cobb of LA 5:39AM January 21, 2012

The GOP serves only the interests of the wealthy and big corporations. They want to do away with social security and reduce us to a third world nation of patrones and peons. We need to curb those excesses for our survival. Corporate welfare must go....they need to take responsiblity for employment of our population instead of reaping obscene profits at our expense.

You should of saved when you were younger. Planning retirement is your investment for the future. As for President Obama, he's been cleaning up after the Republicans since he's been inoffice. So don't blame him, he has made a difference for many.
