Geography

Just south of Birmingham, Vestavia Hills lies on hilly ground in the southern foothills of the Appalachians.

Nearby Birmingham's attractions include the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham Museum of Art, and Birmingham Civil Rights Institute.

Historical

Vestavia Hills takes its name from the estate of one of the area's early residents, former Birmingham Mayor George Battley Ward.  He modeled his 1924 home on Rome's Temple of the Vesta.
