Climate
Reno's climate is mild, but extreme fluctuations in temperature between day and night are common. The region is prone to slight snow accumulation in the winter months.
Geography
Reno is located in the Truckee Meadows Valley, east of the Sierra Nevada range and Lake Tahoe. The Truckee River passes through the city.
Cultural Attractions
The Riverwalk and California Avenue are lined with galleries, restaurants, bars, and coffee shops.
Recreation
The Truckee River Whitewater Park offers kayaking and whitewater rafting right in the city. Golfing and skiing are also available in abundance throughout the Reno area.

Reno is the birthplace of Harrah's Entertainment, a large casino and resort corporation.
