Im Ja Choi felt helpless at times as her 85-year-old mother, unable to find caregivers who spoke Korean, lay in a Philadelphia hospital bed recovering from three surgeries for stomach cancer. It inspired her to create Penn Asian Senior Services, the first and largest agency in Pennsylvania to provide Asian seniors with home healthcare aides who speak their language and understand their culture.
